Don't let the delicate looking flowers fool you - these are TOUGH plants! Like all Sage (Salvia), they prefer full sun and fairly dry conditions. They are a champion for heat and drought resistance; prolific flower spikes skyrocket above neatly mounded, aromatic foliage. Extremely deer resistant, but a magnet for butterflies and hummingbirds. Salvia responds well to shearing after blooming to prompt fresh foliage and blooms. Prefers moist but well-drained soil. Can be divided every 3 - 5 years in early spring. After blooming, cut down to basal growth, as new growth will be more appealing. May flop if given too rich soil or excessive shade. Blooms more profusely with regular watering. Dislikes a spot that is damp over the winter. The spikes are easily dried for dried flower arrangements. Although called 'blue', they are really more of a deep to mid purple color.

These come in 18 count flats.
