Sweet Potato Vine, are super heat tolerant trailing foliage. They are great for a filler in hanging baskets and pots, but also great on its own. While they prefer full sun, they can take some partial shade. The amount of sunlight will affect the leaf color. For the summer flower garden, however, ornamental sweet potatoes  make a beautiful, dependable addition. They thrive in the intense heat of our summers and are easily grown as a low-growing bedding plant, summer ground cover, in hanging baskets and other containers, or trained to climb a support. The growth on these plants is very vigorous once they get established, although newer cultivars have been selected to be more compact and less rambunctious. In warmer climates, this vine acts as a perennial and can be invasive.
